I must correct you; you don't have a painting of a castle but of a citygate. The "Ezelspoort", as it is spelled correctly, is a citygate in the medieval citywalls of the Belgium town of Brugge. As some gates were heavily fortified in those days, they can have the appearance of a castle. Especially when the connecting citywalls were torn down with the passing of time. The name translates into English as donkeygate. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Marko (edited 05-24-2001).]cynthia I have a painting of a castle. On the back are 2 words. Brugge and Ezelpaort.
Does anyone have any clues on where this castle is located? Is there a casle named Ezelpaort? If so where in the world is it? I am thinking Holland, but I have had no luck on any internet search.Fox Atreides Hm, I checked my books about dutch castles, and couldn't find anything, but I'll ask my dad later, he knows alot about dutch castles.
-Mattun-Levan Brugge is in Belgium - a delightful old mediaeval town. Fox Atreides Yes, I thought it was...
