I think the name is McRae... who knows the spelling thanks [This message has been edited by Gordon (edited 06-12-2001).]CATilton I am trying to supprise my husband with a trip next year to his family's castle in Scotland. However, I am having no luck on finding anything... I might not even be spelling the name right..
any help would be wonderful
Charity TiltonGordon The MacRae's held two castles that I'm aware of.
From 1737 a family of that name held Ochiltree Castle in Ayrshire, of which very little remians, and of course the main seat was the famed Eilan Donan.
Go to http://scottishculture.about.com/culture/scottishculture/library/blcastlese.htm
and scroll down to find a number of web sites on 'the world's most photographed castle'....allegedly!
if you don't mind me saying so, it seems a little strange that you don't know how to spell your husband's family name....would it not now be your own name..?
