[This message has been edited by Gordon (edited 09-03-2001).] ------------------carmen hello, just started here and i am so glad to have found this site.
i was in sicily italy some time back and went to a castle in catania called urso if i recall correctly. i would love a picture or a site to search if anyone can help. the castle was in the city, however the interior paintings showed that it was once in the harbor. apparently volcanic eruptions filled the harbor i believe in the 1600's so that now it is kilometers from the sea. i beleive it dates back to the crusades again only some recollection from a guide. so any help would be appreciated Gordon Could you be meaning Castello Ursino? http://www.ctonline.it/topon/ursino.htm
The site is in Italian, but you could use a Babel Fish to translate. http://world.altavista.com/tr
