AJRI have just posted a copy of a postcard recently purchased, in the Photo Archive. The title says it's Ashby Castle, but maybe someone could confirm whether it is indeed Ashby-de-la-Zouche Castle, or somewhere else. There is nothing else on the postcard that gives any indication to it's identification.
Thanks
Andrew
PeterAndrew,
this is the doorway in Ashby Tower (Castle). The give away is the faint line down the left hand side of the picture in the postcard. This is apparent even in my bad picture.
I've been to the site twice .. and the weather has been stinking, twice.
AJRIs that Castle Ashby, Northamptonshire ? Or is there another Ashby I'm forgetting about ?
ipfloi know one thing for certain it isn't castle ashby in northamptonshire
A KnightI agree with Peter - look at the cover of the 1995 edition of the English Heritage Guidebook - the view of the doorway is almost identical (although a lot smaller).
Last time I visited the site (last September) the weather was superb.

LevanAshby-de-la-Zouch? There's certainly a castle there anyway!
