[This message has been edited by AJR (edited 02-20-2002).]Trukr I am trying to help a friend here in the United States find a castle that was to be handed down to him. It is in Houghton Le Spring. any ideas would be sincerely appreciated castleuk Hi Trukr
Houghton le Spring is south-west of Sunderland on the A690 road to Durham.
The rectory had a tower built without licence in 1483, a pardon was granted by Bishop Dudley. The tower has now vanished, site unknown.
