ninanarchieSalut.
My name is Nina and I would like to know if anyone has a clue where all the castles (Esced, Sárvár, Bicse, Leka, Kéresztur, Cachtice) of Bathory are placed? I read thousand of stories about Elisabeth and some were almost identical and others compelety different. I found a lot of different spellings (for example Bytca, Betzko, Bécko) and so it’s not easy to find the places where the castles and ruins are. Is it right that castle Ecsed is in Nagyecsed where she was born? What about Kéresztur is it in Austria like Leka (Lockenhaus)? I found out that Kéresztur means “Deutschkreutz” but is it the castle of Elisabeth or is there another place called Kéresztur in Hungary? Is Bicse placed in Bicsérd Hungary? I really need help because I want to make a “Bathory tour” to all her castles in two weeks. I would be happy about a reply.
I also search for people who are interested in her.
Thanks, nice greetings Nina

I'm not sure how much this is going to help you. It's the journal of a filming crew which made a documentary about Elisabeth. http://www.igougo.com/planning/journal.asp?JournalID=8216 - also a journal.
And yes, Ecsed castle is in Nagyecsed.
pikeroyThere is a site on hungarian castles ( in english ) which has some information on the castles you are looking for. http://mars.elte.hu/varak/terkep+lista2.php
