JAS13Castell Moch is a disputed earthwork castle in Montgomeryshire, Wales (OS 125, SJ112246). Having visited over 40 castles in this region Castell Moch is the only one left to see. I am planning to visit it and wondered had anyone seen it? If so what are the earthwork remains? Is there a motte? How accessible is it? Hope someone can help with a description or point me in the direction of any relevant reference material.
PeterSounds very minor, and I don't think I have visited the site.
Mike Salter just says;
'The damaged motte by a farm probably had a summit diameter of of about 23mts.'
Wish you the best of luck. After having just returned from Northamptonshire, were I tried to visit some minor sites. Many were immpossible due to ground conditions and undergrowth.
Anyway, sounds like the one you are after is visible if it is near a farm.
Watch out for those BIG dogs.
Peter
