my name is Gemma, and I am trying to find any information or pictures and history on Oghery Castle of Galway ireland..
any leads would be great..

Paul Hello Gemma, I have searched all over the web for info on Oghery castle but I can't find anything about a specific castle.
Oghery castle may just be an area of Galway where once a castle did exist but there is no trace of such a building today.
I hope I am wrong but due to the lack of response from anyone else I fear I am not.

Peter Hi Gemma,
Been on holiday, so just catching up with a few posts.
On a small Island in Lake Ross, are the remains of footings of a later house, these are imposed on an earlier tower. Jonick O'Halloran held the site in 1574.
Hope that gives you a starting point.
