marimba12Hi. I have a Middle Ages project for school for which I want to build a castle. (I'm 15 in the 10th grade) I want it to be really neat, but I'm not finding that much information. My original idea was to build a castle from a model kit and then add on a landscape and other extras. Any ideas where I could find a kit? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Philip DavisWhilst there are many toy castles none I have seen is a good example of a medieval castle. It is not to difficult to make a castle from cardboard if you have a good ground plan and pictures of the castle exterior, particularly if you choose to make a model of a square castle. There is a good set of plans for Castle Levan, a scottish L plan castle, at http://www.kirkburn.com/castlelevan/ and for Rochester castle, a norman keep at http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/floorplans/Normanrectkeeps.html .

A alternative might be a lego castle. See the examples at http://www.end.com/~jynx/castle/ (Thanks to Levan for this link)
