Erikcastlefreak I have a paper due in a week on how castles save energy. i need to know what energy it uses, and how that is helpful. My correct Email is MissLegzz@aol.com, it is not the name i registered with. If you have any answers please email me asap!!! thank you!!! Erik Schmidt I don't think castles saved energy in any way.
Castles used wood fires to heat and cook, wind or water energy if there was a mill within the castle to grind grains, horse and human energy to do most other things.
I'm sure saving "energy" was not generally on the minds of the castle owner, builder or warden.
I'm sure some efficiencies were introduced in various forms, but likely that was to save money.
