purr48622i need to find some pictures having to do with castles, armor, landscape, and anything else having to do with medieval times. i'm writing a short story and drawing pictures to go with it and i can't seem to find any good pictures. i also tried to acess the archives but for some reason i couldnt. if you could help me out it some way it would be very much appreciated. thanx
duncanNot sure why your haveing problems with the
archives as they are working just fine, give it another try.
You might start by reading back posts in many of the forums and also do a search on the net. There are hundeds of sites within the topics you listed on almost every search engine out there.
Erik SchmidtIf the pictures are to illustrate a story, then I suggest you pick a specific date within the medieval period. This will narrow your search a bit, as you seem to be looking at way too much info, and the difference in armour, clothing and building styles changed a lot from early to late medieval.
To help make it easier you may want to look at period illustrations to copy their style and content. Several manuscripts are on the web, here;
http://www.bnf.fr/enluminures/manuscrits/amanuscrit.htm

and here; http://www.thehaca.com/reading.htm

Let us know what you decide.

Erik SchmidtRe. your e-mail;
"(seeings how i dont know what period it was in) i'm going to be writng a short story making up a quest that King Arthur and the knights of the round table would make. i need pictures from around that time period. i've looked up everthing from king arthur to castles from medieval times, to armor from mideval times, and they just dont seem to want to give me any pictures, just information.
Please help me out some more if you can. I would really appreciate it.
thanx "

Krystal,
Your problems stem from having chosen King Arthur. He is a mythical figure, no-one knows for sure if he existed, and they certainly don't know when or where he lived, so finding out armour, clothing, catles and the like is guesswork.
If he existed then he must have lived in the dark ages, a period I know little about. Others will know much more about this subject than I. Did you try some of the old posts about King Arthur in the various forums?
One thing is for sure, he predates stone castles and the armour would have been something along the lines of a chainmaille shirt, a shield and a conical helm possibly with some side or nose protection. His weapons would have been spear, sword and knife.
Once you fix on a date to place him in, then it will be much easier to help.

Erik
