Well any way since one of the topics has been fantasy books i thought i'd ask if some one, besides me that is, have read any of the Andre Norton books like the Witch World series. {even if they are quit old and out of date for todays youth} Or the Fritz Leiber series of Fafard and the gray Mouser and one of my favorite authors Robert Heinlein? ------------------ The world can be as you want, when you are as the world wants you. ------------------ The world can be as you want, when you are as the world wants you.duncan I felt that things need to get back to normal, Errrrr, gasp... choke!!!! very sorry, i forgot this is the Solar! Peter Duncan,
now yer talkin'
Brought up on em'. I even used to have a mini-mag named after the Grey Mouser, in Welsh !
Please don't ask me to dig the title out.
Although I have pruned my S.f. titles to the bone, I still retain 90% of my fantasy titles. Treece, Lord Dunsany, E.R. Edison, K. C. Flint, L. Alexander, Lin Carter, H. Munn .. and many many more.
It is a pity that some of the classic books are no longer read. We seem to have had a diet of rehashed 'Lord of the Rings' for years now.
I can't recall the last one I bought. Perhaps I should, and see how genre is making out.AJR I also enjoy Robert Heinlein - and Isaac Asimov. Both I read and re-read. I'm currently ploughing my way through the "Foundation" series - AGAIN - in chronological order. Great Fun ! duncan Heinlein seems to be good at spinning a web on the Sword and Sorcery side as in 'GLory Road'. Old but still a good read.
I read some of Isaac Asimov as well and also enjoyed the few books of Lin Carter i had. I wish i had the time to reread them all.
The Mouser, he remains one of my favorite characters.Marko Yep, Heinlein was the one I read the most but also Brian Aldiss, Philip K. Dick and of course the Cities in Flight serie by James Blish! Fox Atreides I also have the problem of forgetting everything and having no time to reread it all... But i did just finish the lord of the rings for the 4th time, and i read the silmarillion, now im going to read a book from a dutch author (very old) and im reading some good ol' pockets, no masterpieces but they're not so tough
-Matt-duncan Nice to have you back Fox, did you forget about the site as well? Fox Atreides Nope, not at all, still check it at least once in two days, but since there is no cable here, surfing is expensive, and so I can't really search for tough questions, and there was nothing really interesting going on here . And of course, long time no castles
-Matt-
