I'm a highschool student, and I need some help. I'm doing a project in which I have to draw a house design from a blueprint, but that's too boring. I want to draw a design of a castle, and I was wondering where I could find castle blueprints to use for this project. If anyone could help me out, that would make things a little easier. Thanks Shannen |

There are one or two sets of plans in the photo archive, linked at the foot of the page. You will also find a collection of plans of Scottish castles on my web site.------------------ 'Demeure par la verite' Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page |

Thanks for the info, but I was acutally looking for some newer castles, maybe with habitants still in them? I'm sorry, I guess I should have been more clear. But if I can't find anything else, I'll be sure to used something off your website of course. But if you could help me find something a little newer that would be ALOT of help. Thanks Shannen |

Check out Leeds Castle in the "Castle Floorplans" category of the Photo Archive. This may be what you are after. |

Shannen, castles are old, and many castles still have residents often after some renovation work. By 'newer' what do you mean, would I be right in assuming that you mean less than three hundred years old, or is it less than that? I suspect that you may be meaning the sprawling mansions which are often referred to as castles by their builders/occupants, though which are in fact not true castles since they were not fortified. I wonder if we are returning to a question of definition so often discussed in previous mails. Give us an example of the type of structure you are looking for and we may be able to help out a little more directly.------------------ 'Demeure par la verite' Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page |

Sorry, I guess I really should be more clear, the Leeds castle is getting ALOT closer to what I had in mind. I guess I was kinda looking for something built in the early early 1800's, something with lots of secret passage ways and tunnels. Sorry about that. Shannen |
