My first thought is to say that there is no such thing as a 'typical' castle. However, I will look at my sources on the various Percy castles and come back to this forum with my findings although this may take a day or so.------------------ And as I rode by Dalton-Hall Beneath the turrets high, A maiden on the castle-wall Was singing merrily: The Outlaw by Sir Walter Scott http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/index.html

I'm afraid that due to unforeseen circumstances I'm not going to be able to be this research in the near future. Can anyone else help. ------------------ And as I rode by Dalton-Hall Beneath the turrets high, A maiden on the castle-wall Was singing merrily: The Outlaw by Sir Walter Scott http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/index.html
