Hey, I'm a 12-year-old 7th grader and I have a medeival project due by the end of spring break (5/3). I have decided to make a castle out of sugar cubes...Is this a good Idea or Will it flop (this is probably a better question to ask the model board but just getting a second opinion)also, does anyone have any idea of what a model of a castle might look like— I already have a plan but it isnt really labeled well. Thanks in Advance, [This message has been edited by Last Minute (edited 04-20-2000).] [This message has been edited by Last Minute (edited 04-20-2000).] |

I, personally, think you are making thing very hard for your self. It will be much easier if you use thick cardboard, glue and paint. However, get yourself extra marks by making a model of an actual castle. You can find plans of Castle Hedingham on my web site at [URL]http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/Plans/blbum/pages/hedingham_gif.htm]http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/Plans/blbum/pages/hedingham_gif.htm[/ URL] . This would be very simple to make in cardboard since it is square and if you were very clever you could make it like a dolls house, with an opening side, so that you could show the interior with it dark dank cellar and grand great hall. Simply print the plans off, stick them on thick cardboard, make four walls, getting the size from the section, and glue them together. If you go to http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~mwcook/hedingham-castle.html]http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~mwcook/hedingha m-castle.html]http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~mwcook/hedingham-castle.html you will find some fine pictures so you can judge what colours to paint the models and where to paint in the windows and door and, also, learn something about this lovely castle. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Philip Davis (edited 04-20-2000).] [This message has been edited by Philip Davis (edited 04-22-2000).] [This message has been edited by Philip Davis (edited 04-22-2000).] |
