Author Topic:   Newcastle Barrie Member posted 02-18-2005 03:33 PM             There is a legend in our family that they came from the Blacks of Newcastle castle. I have found that Patrick and Barbara Black leased the castle in the first half of the 17th century. Apparently their name appeared in castle records after 1649. I would love to get the link from my family (who often used "Black" as the middlename from way back) - to Patrick! And asking them for the local Historical groups address? They of course would not have the answer, but could no doubt tell you where specific records might be.
