The Great Western RailwayA well reserched book and writen in a style that makes reading it a pleasure. Most if not all the 105 illustrations and drawings are unique in many ways.
The Introduction is worth a book unto itself.

THE TECHNIQUES OF THE SWORDSMITH

in 1967A well detailed and researched book covering a vast array of blades, Military to modern, and the years of their use.
A book that will not apeal to many, but as a third generation sword and blade maker i have a vested interest in such and added this one to my reference library many years ago.

I've got the book "Castles" by Charles Oman - it's an interesting old tome, complete with removable map showing the position of all the castles mentioned. Much enjoyed and re-read. |
