Would this be the one I have from 'The Folio Society (1965) ?
An excellent hardback, full of plans, woodcuts, pictures etc. Translated from the Spanish edition of 1568.
If it is .. I'd agree, and say, find it for your collection

I've seen the hardback version of this, and whilst there are a few pics and drawings, it sounds like an alternative book to yours- is it the same author? If so it may simply be an alternate version/ reprint/revision. There is a book which illustrates the variety of excellent paintings of the Siege from various sites in Valletta, though as far as I'm aware it's only available in Malta.
1565, the great Siege of Malta, Joseph Ellul, 1992, published by author, no ISBN illustrated, and like most Maltese publications is available in English, French and German.

I think your 1568 (sorry I misread the date in your reply) version is Balbi, Francisco da Correggio, la Verdadera relacion de todo lo que el ano de MDLXV ha succedio en la Isla de Malta (Barcelona, 1568) Balbi was one of the clerical brethern of the Knights of St John, present at the siege , he recorded his observations to provide all later writers with a valuable insight into events. Ernle Bradfords book draws from this, and many many other contemporary sources, though I suspect the illustrations in your version may have been added at republication.
