Try being more specific with your question.

Castles were built in almost every situation, but the builders would try to use the natural lay of the land to their advantage, such as building on a hill or next to a water barrier(lake, river or ocean).
The land around castles varies greatly. Some were built in the midst of good agricultural areas or near villages and towns in order to dominate them, while others were built to guard a mountain pass, so they would be surrounded by steep valleys, mountains and forests.
Castles can be found surrounded by mountains, water, forests, deserts or green pasture land, all depending on its location and purpose.

Hope that helps.

You've had this question answered before. Were the answers not what you were looking for ? If not please ask less general questions as Erik suggests. All regular contributors read all forums and answer when they can. You are unlikely to get a different answer by switching forums since it's likely the same folk will reply. You are more likely to get the data you want by continuing the discussion on the same thread, the we can compare your different wordings and work toward the answer you want.
