I am looking for any information on the barracks inside a castle and what they looked like. Also, anything related to the training of the soldier's (not knight's) would be really helpful.
Can anyone help?

The old WW II style barracks with their open bays and separate unit leaders office/quarters come close to being like medieval barracks.
Or so they were described to me.
The Roman army used very similar floor plans when possible and of course when in the field things would have been different.

Depending on the castle the walls could have been of stone, wood, waddle and daub, or any combination of those. The ceilings could have been arched stone or wood timber framing. Different kinds of insulation did exist and could also have been used.

I suspect the training of the soldiers could go from the rather complex to the simple, rather like it is today, depending on who, what, when, where, money, and many other factors. As an example a conscripted pike man may not need to know how to operate a form of artillery.

History shows that people had similar habits as today, so to the personnel items of the solders i would think of today and apply what was popular in the age you are looking for.

Many, many thanks. That was exactly what I was looking for.
