The front of the card is an old photo of the site, with the words Castle Hill Thetford 32 which were either etched or painted on by hand on the original picture.The reverse side has only the following :
Post Card in the centre at the top.
Castle Hill
Series underneath in a box.
The wordsCorrespondence and Address Only about one-third of the way down in the centre of the left and right hand sides respectively.
Stamp Here in the top right hand corner.
There really isn't any other detail, and sadly, it is unused, so undated.
I have been in contact with a postcard dealer, who suggested that the postcard series may be named solely after Thetford Castle, it being one of a number of views of the locality.
A Norfolk publisher of local history was unable to help, or provide any alternative suggestions.
I still have one more avenue of inquiry to follow up, but at the moment I'm open to any other suggestions.
