In perusing your very interesting castle web site, I was disappointed not to have seen any information/photos of St. Denis Cathedral in Paris. St. Denis is a magnificent structure and was discussed in Ken Follett's awesome medieval novel "Pillars of the Earth." The charm and novelty of this cathedral is that, although it isn't overly breathtaking from the outside, it is truly a jewel from the inside. It's similar to Notre Dame of Paris but without the teeming hoardes of people. It was so quiet inside that, at one point, I had to smother my rewinding camera! Visiting this site was one of my most memorable experiences in Paris.

I suppose the difficult is that this is a castle web site. In many ways I personally would prefer that this was a medieval studies site and that the castle home builders and genealogy people were elsewhere, but it is what it is and occasional I find something interesting in the home build section. What I would worry about is the site as a whole, and Castle Quest in particular, becoming too large to use. The site does have some links to other, more general medieval sites in it's links section.

Sarah - If you know of such a site, please add it! Also, you can create your own site on this topic (or any other castle related topic) if you wish. Both can be accessed from the menu at the bottom.

Philip - Our concern is certainly not that the site gets too large, quite the contrary, we hope that it becomes as large and as busy as it can get. We are hoping to build a place where anyone with an interest in castles can meet, whether their interest is in medieval studies, castle building or heraldry.

COTW has been designed it such a way that as an area gets too large it can be broken into smaller areas, both the links section and Quest are like this. An example of this is today, where at someones suggestion we have added a new forum dedicated to castle model building. This topic is getting a lot of attention and spilling into other areas.

If anyone has any suggestions on new forums, an idea or anything related to this site please don't hestitate to let us know. We are only too glad to try to make this a site all can enjoy! btw - We are still looking for forum moderators...
