![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, i see hes putting a message in the SCHOOL PROJECTS space because he is trying to tell us that his intelligence level is rated "NONE" and that he needs help... My school has a wonderful guidance counciler, perhaps you should call her. (she can even give you spelling lessons on the sides) Is there a way for moderators or someone to delet stupid posts like this? [This message has been edited by fafwolf (edited 12-07-2000).] |

![]() ![]() As the forum moderator I did delete the two copies of this post, mainly to save people viewing repeat post. I didn't delete one version because I believe that such censorship is unwarrented and can be counterproductive. This sort of post, resulting from anomic feelings, is, in my opinion, best ignored. Censorship is actually a more powerful response than a critical answer and my result in an individual raising the stakes to get their name noticed. The reverse to this is that when people post reasonable, or even somewhat less than reasonable, questions and comments their posts should be, in my opinion, answered. However, I did enjoy Erik's punning repost which was worth breaking the ignoring rule for it's wit. Of course it my be possible that evil's original post was both an ironic comment and a deliberate misspelling designed to highlight evil's tag. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Agreed. But the ignoring-policy works only as long as not too many of such senseless posts appear on CQ. Otherwise it'll get very boring if one's searching older posts for usefull information ... Merlin |

![]() ![]() The policy has worked up until now, I agree with Philip, promoting antagonistic reactions could be counter productive. Each situation as it arises and develops has to be dealt with on it's own merits. Deletion is a powerful tool, about which fears were raised by some when we were appointed Moderators. I wondered if fafwolfs comments here were a response to the deletion of an entire topic posted here a few days ago. I should point out to him that the original poster deleted the first mail in that series, not I, and that by doing so deleted the whole topic. ------------------ Gordon. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If members were to look back they would find many topics with holes where items have been deleted by the writers. I locked a topic of antagonistic postings instead of deleting them as a reminder of what this site should not be used for. As someone once said "You have to take the bad with the good" |

![]() ![]() I would ask that if that anyone else would like to make comments about moderates function and style that they do it in the comments and suggestion forum rather than this forum. Cheers ------------------ |
