I am having a hard time finding a dollhouse quality castle plan, I want to build a model castle, but with the functionality of a dollhouse. I want to be able to see the inside as well as the outside. I need plans, or something at least close to it. |

There are a large variety of castle plans on my web page linked below. You may have to enlarge them to get the scales, and work from there. You will also find some plans on the Floorplans section of the Photo Archive linked at the foot of the page, and some links in Floorplans and Blueprints Forum of this Bulletin Board. ------------------ 'Demeure par la verite' Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page

Hi Gordon, thank you for the response but when I searched your website all I found was old pictures along with the drawings, I did not find anything with measurements. Nor did I find a floorplan with measurements on it. Where? |

The floorplans are there, and on numerous of them you will see a graded line. This represents feet, five feet and ten feet. They also appear on several elevations. You may have to download them and enlarge them with a photo editing suite first, but they are there. I can't put full size images on a web page, it would be unworkable for the viewer. The following sites as example; Borthwick, Bothwell,Caprington, Carrick, and so on. Some of the later additions to the site have a higher resolution, Doune, Drochil etc. Use the scale to take the measurements for each side of the room, wall etc. |

One of your bigger challenges will be modelling the relative thickness of many castle walls. If you want plans for a Scottish tower house I have plans on my website at www.castlelevan.com - click the plans button. As in gordon's site, you'll need to download the plans to be able to read the detail. Also, on my site, not all the dimensions are marked, however, the plans are drawn to scale, so you'll be able to calculate the missing dimensions from the dimension lines that are marked. All the best with your model - I'm sure folks would like to see a picture once you've finished. When you're ready, just ask for help if you need it in using the picture gallery. Regards Levan |
