The only castle I know of is the one in Tarrytown - it's a bit pricey though
$125-165 per person. Great if you're an heiress, not so great for the rest of us.

I've heard there is a castle in W. Paterson NJ called Lambert castle, but heard one report that it has been condemned. Any other info anybody has would be great. I really want to get married in a castle also - provided it's reasonable.

We're looking to get married in a castle or extremely old cathedral in pennsylvania or New Jersey. There is one castle in Pennsylvania but it is now occupied by Beaver College. They do allow use of it for weddings and other special events. I don't know if it was built for the college or what but it is breathtaking. The only thing is that they cannot accomadate more that 150-200 people because of the offices that occupy alot of space.

I know of another castle in New York that caters to weddings. Oheka Castle, located in Huntington, Long Island, provides both the wedding ceremony site and the reception. The fee is way too expensive though, and they require you to use their caterer (which costs about $150 and above per person). But the place is beautiful. Oheka Castle is the second largest residential home in USA, next to the Biltmore Estate. It is also where Orwelle's "Citizen Kane" was filmed (Citizen Kane's house).
There is a castle in West Orange, NJ called the Pleasantdale Chateau Castle, and they do hold weddings there. I don't know about the fees and all but you can always inquire.
Another castle that holds weddings is the Belcourt Castle, but it is in Newport, Rhode Island. It is located on the infamous "Gilded Age" mansion strip in Newport. It looks really great and I think the fee is more affordable and reasonable.

All times are PT (US)
