I've heard it said that chatrooms are a bit like pubs with open conversations, you just ask questions or make points as you feel able. Since your new you have to buy us all a round of drinks and I'll have a classic lukewarm pint of british bitter thanks.

Count me in too, provided it's a real ale!
Greenmantle, Hobgoblin or Fraoch would go down nicely, but I could make do with an Old Speckled Hen or a St Andrews Ale.
Sheep Dip and Bishop's Finger sound unsavoury, but I can assure they are excellent beers.

Funnily enough I thought this might be a popular subject, and I apreciate the comment about beaqmish. I was going to ask if anyone had tried the famed Skullsplitter Ale from the Orkney Brewery, but it's a stupid question, because allegedly anyone who had wpould now be unable to type!

As long as we don't go south of the border or any where near London! Whoops, Philip lives south, maybe you better drive.

Thank you all for your kind welcome. In response to Merlin's question, I love castles, and wish I lived in one a long time ago...I've only ever been in one, but someday would love to visit many more.

I visited Boldt Castle in the St.Lawrence Seaway 20 years ago. I have heard they are restoring it now and would love to see it again. It was in ruins when I was there. Even so, it was beautiful...
