The castle Bretzenheim is situated on the market square of the town Bretzenheim, which is near Bad Kreuznach. The castle was build in 1589 by count Emrich von Daun-Falkenstein and was destroyed in the 30-years War. Then rebuild in 1689 and than burned down again. The present building was constracted in 1774, but includes some parts of the original building. It was probably owned by Fürsten von Bretzenheim. I haven't found any pictures on the web yet.

The ruin Rheingrafenstein lies on the 137m hight Rheingrafenstein opposite Bad Münster. The castle was owned in the 12. centery to Ritter Wolfram der VI. von Stein, the first Rheingraf vom Stein and from that comes the name of the castle. In 1620 it was concored by General Spinola and in 1688 was blown up by French. The are only little left from the castle. The picture of this place is on http://www.uni-mainz.de/~hahn/naheland/images/rheingrafenstein.html , but it is difficult to see the ruins- they must be small.

All times are PT (US)
