I'm asking on behalf of a friend of mine who is going to produce a 3D, computer animated, castle. He is hoping to make it possible to walk through the whole castle as it might have looked around 12-14th century(minus people and most furnishings). The castle will be a composite, based largely on Dover castle. Unfortunately there seem to be no floorplans on the web. Does anybody know where plans of Dover castle can be found? The 3D castle will be sold as an educational tool on CD, but no images will be copied, only used as a basis for working out construction and texture. Has anyone produced a good book on Dover?Erik |

Most likely get a few answers Erik. But English Heritage do a fairly updated one, which is supposed to be good. Oxbow books may have one www.oxbowbooks.com I know Castle Books used to do it. They also have a web site, might be your best bet.

Sorry for the delay Erik. The ISBN number of the above mentioned book is 1 85074 682 6. It contains plans of the Keep, and a (poor) plan of the entire castle. I can scan them for you if you require them. Just let me know. Andrew[This message has been edited by AJR (edited 06-13-2001).] |
