It's one thing to call a house a castle and very much another for it to be one.
I know as I'm building a TRUE castle. Something I have dreamt of all this life. It's not just looks and a load of rock that makes a castle what it is, nor is it age, its primarily what the building was designed to do and how it was to do it.
{ Yes I know that is a very compact answer for what is a castle but hopefully it will do for now. }
I'm not saying what you plan is wrong or that someone shouldn't build what they dream, but maybe you should be aware of the difference so as to make for better choice's in the actual planing stage.
If all a person is interested in is the look of a medieval castle then interior decorating is far less costly then building.
A pseudo, fake, or folly "castle" construction now a days is going to cost you more then building a normal house does. Much more then 10 or even 5 years ago.
Your spans {open areas } in the sketches are one major concern for example that will add expense if i judged correctly from what you have very roughly penciled in.
The over all deviation from normal construction in the entire shape of the building will have to be considered for the extra cost alone in labor and materials.
Should you build?
I'm not the one to tell you not too nor will I.
I will try to give incite to the problems a person faces so they can make a better educated evaluation of the practicality of making their dreams come true.
Many people on the net who claim they know how to do something and can tell you how in a web page fall very short in real life when it comes to the doing.
Their are far too many items and problems that can acure for a web site no matter how well designed or how good the intent to cover all potentialities.
