I need books on HOW casltes are built. The construction methods. Im tired of castle designs and history o them. I want a how to book on castle building. are there any out there ? |

I've never seen a book that just covers the construction of castles. However, many of the better texts have a chapter on castle construction. Castles of the British Isles by Plantagenet Somerset Fry has a good chapter. Castles, Their Construction and History by Sidney Toy has much to offer but is a bit difficult to sort through. Norman Castles in Britain by Derek Renn has a short, but excellent, chapter. My web site has biblography with details of these books------------------
