I have found that my ancestral home is Allington Castle in County Kent. My cousin visited there in 1995 and said it was being sold as a Bed and Breakfast. I am hoping to visit there soon myself and would like any information anyone might have on the Castle. Thanks!

I'm just a collector of castle paintings. I purchased a canvas lithograph called "Allington Castle-Kent" recently that's beautiful. There's still a few left.To take a

Natalie, I also am an ancestor of Allington Castle. Could we be related? I am a decendent of the Wyatt's.

I am a decendent of the Wyatt family, also. My Aunt visited Allington Castle in Kent County last year and was disappointed to find the castle closed to the public. She made no mention of the rumored Bed and Breakfast aspirations. I will be visiting the area soon. I hope to find out that the rumor is indeed factual. I would be honored to spend time behind the walls of the castle. "Here's to High Hopes"!

I live in Kent, just a few miles from Allington Castle. I have lots of info, but it will take time to type it all out. Any particular questions - fire away.

Wow! Many of you people are my distant relations! I'm from the other branch of the Wyatt family with the spelling of Wiatt. Sir Thomas Wyatt/Wiatt lead a rebellion against Queen Mary from Allington Castle but failed. He was beheaded in the tower of london soon after.

Hi,I live in Kent, about 6 miles from Allington.
I can tell you that the castle is sadly closed to the public.
It is currently owned by an American gentleman who has no plans to open the castle to the public.
More info on the Wyatts/Wiatts can be found here. http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/WYATT.htm#Adam%20WIOT1

I have found this e-mail address for Allington castle.
sec@allingtoncastle.org
Apparently, you could get married there.

Hi, its only been recently that I have discovered that I am related to Sir Thomas Wyatt. Before my mum died she had trace back to him. She was from the Wyatt side who was sent to Australia on a convict ship and changed his name to Whyatt. So we have been trying to do research for my 10 year old sons project. It has been really interesting to learn all this. Unfortunately we cannot find all the info that my mum found. XXX

I also am a direct descendant of Sir Thomas Wyatt. I see a few of you live close to Allington castle. how far is it from London, lets say Harrods for an estimate start point. Also, if one drives or takes a cab how close can you get to this castle?
Also, does anyone know if it is easy to rent a car to drive up to Glastonbury & Stonehenge? I live in the USA so I am not sure how different it is to drive in the U.K. thank you.

The Gentleman mentioned previously is a Wyatt from Texas who owned\ownes a chain of restaurants. The buzz in the Family is that purchase of the Castle involved Fergie. I visited Allington in 1992 and the ABC TV series "Covington Cross" was being filmed. You all know the story about Sir Henry Thomas in The Tower? ...It's cool.
I am currently creating a repository for the Allington Wyatts via my Facebook. I am currently creating the website, hence my being here, for additional information.
