Not really my area of interest but I got this from the Royal Commission for Historic Monuments Scotland database.(NO 8315 7211) - This is the map reference, The castle is in the parish of Bervie in Aberdeenshire
Hallgreen Castle
An effaced date on the front of Hallgreen Castle is supposed to be 1376. 'There is every appearance of its having been surrounded by a moat' with drawbridge, etc. The castle has been added to at various times.
Hallgreen Castle is an L-planned late 16th century house, with an earlier nucleus, to which a more modern mansion has been attached to north and west. The fronts to south and east are old work, although that to the east has been partly rebuilt. The castle is said to have been founded in 1376. It is still occupied.
