Castle is recorded - with plan and photo in Mike Salter's - The Castles of the Heartland of Scotland - p 126-7.
In summary - "Ruined MacFarlane castle on an island in Loch Lomond (Map Ref. NS332128) - said to have been connected to the mainland by a causeway. The castle is a tower house of 16th century date remodelled c.1570-1600. It consists of a central block 12.5m x 10.5m with later round towers at diagonally opposite corners."
