does anyone know of a castle in Germany called the Castle Piedmont? It is supposed to be on the border of France & Germany. Possibly the Von Talman family owned it?

As you no doubt know 'Piemonte' is a region in Northern Italy. And there are many places in this section of Europe with various spellings of this name. Meaning .. at the foot\near\ of the mountain. And your spelling suggests that at one time it may have lain within France. As you have no doubt found out, sticking that name into a search engine, will have brought you more sites that you can shake a stick at. No doubt one or two others have looked for you, as I will, but don't hold your breath !
