When I passed through Tickhill a couple of years ago, I was unable to get any decent views of the castle. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some photos or images of the castle.

Only good image I can find is the aerial view in R Allen Brown's - Castles from the Air - Cambridge University Press - 1989 p.215.

Hi I have a 2 pictures of Tickhill, like you taken from the outside, a good one of the motte and curtain wall and a poor one of the top of the gatehouse. I have visited the castle, I think it opens once a year for the church funds but for some mad reason I didn't take a camera, I will go back this winter to get some better one's for the website. It's still the property of the Duke of Lancaster. Mail me if you want them. castleuk@hotmail.com www.castleuk.net Chris

Visited the site some 6-years ago with the Castle Studies Group, so have plenty of pic's of all over. Will scan & download some for you,
