My grandfather recently told of a story from his WW II days when he drove and officer to a castle which, at that time, was in a heavily wooded area. He was told very little about the castle but said it was "just like a storybook castle." Here is some more information he gave me. "I know we parked on the right side, and waited for the officers to go inside. Some of the cities near were Floremshein, Zeitlern, Kalminz, Scheinfeld. They were in the vicinity of the Danube River and the mountains and deep forests of Bavaria."

If you have any ideas, let me know. Rate your level of certainty (i.e. 100%=sure, or 10%=a guess, etc.) Thanks!!

It seems to me like your looking for that famous needle. For the distance between the cities of Scheinfeld and Kallmunz (because Kalminz doesn't exist) is over 150 km with Nuremberg in the middle (I couldn't find the other cities you mentioned which, I think, is due to bad spelling). Also that area of Germany is strewn with castles. And without more precise info I don't think you'll ever find it.
Sorry to be of no help what so ever but good luck.
