i've just been told that all the lion statues in alnwick castle are positioned with their tails facing south, towards london, and their tails are raised as if defecating, as an act of ireverance against either parliament or the crown, is this true or just a myth passed down thru the ages. having looked at various pages on your site i have found lots of information on the castle itself and the earls/dukes of northumberland but nothing regarding the statues.
