according to mine 1997 edition of hudson's historic houses and garden guide was in 1997 Ferguson International Holdings Plc the owner of Appleby Castle in 2003. But I don't know if they still are the owner, because on the net I found also the mention of an "Appleby Castle Limited", a "daughter" of Tamaris International. I think you can best check the newest edition.
