Does anyone know if you can visit Dunveghan Castle in Scottland, my family is from Scottland (My great-great grandfather, John McCleod came to America from Scottland). So, I was wondering if anyone knew of the castle. I had been searching for it for a few years, and finally came across a few sites, but they really didn't help. Also, there were a few Disney movies that had the castle in it and the Cup of Dunveghan...the stories that I have read about the castle and the cup are true (so my grandmom tells me), I grew up with the stories...and, the Faerie Flag is still hanging in the castle...that's all well and good, but I still don't know if I can go visit the castle! Ohh, and another thing...Highlander...does anyone know if they paid any royalties to the McCleod clan?

Yes, you can visit Dunvegan Castle - it's on the Isle of Skye. You can even stay in a cottage in the castle grounds.

Dunvegan Castle is open all year round (almost) and seven days a week:
Mid March to end October 10am - 5pm
November to mid March 11am - 4pm

For details see: http://www.dunvegancastle.com/

Suspect it was your spelling of the castle name that made it difficult to find the details you were seeking. ;-)
