I hope someone can help me out. When my great-grandmother was young she worked in a castle in Ireland as a cook.My grandmother said that a lord lived in it, he was arrested for treason and was hanged by a silver noose. My mother said that the name of the castle is Casement Castle. I have looked this up on the internet and came up with nothing. Could the name have anything to do with Sir Casement? My Grandmother also said that ships could come in under the castle to unload their goods. It has been a good many years and I do wonder how much of this information is accurate but its all I have. My mother and I are planning a trip to Ireland and would like to visit this castle if it really exists. Any Ideas???

Might be in Ballyheigue. It sais the castle burned in 1921...But I don't know if all of it burned. Roger Casement lived there. He was hanged in Pentonville prison on 3 August, 1916. http://homepage.tinet.ie/~ncasey/page3.html
