I'll be visiting Germany in a couple of weeks, staying close to Baden Baden. Can anyone recommend any castles to visit within easy travelling distance?

the following website gives some info about castles and palaces you can visit in the state of Baden Wurtemberg, the state where Baden Baden lies:
http://www.schloesser-magazin.de/

For example in Rastatt you can visit two nice palaces, or somewhat to the north the ruins of the Heidelberg castle.

Hello,

Here's another website for you:
http:/www.burgenwelt.de/
which has a great deal of information (in Deutsche) on individual castles/ruins, listed by country/state.

There are 3 substantial ruins in the immediate vicinity of Baden Baden...HOHEN-BADEN (just above the city), EBERSTEINBURG & YBURG (both within a few kilometers). All are freely accessible & 2 have adjacent dining facilities.
