![]() ![]() Strictly speaking a fief is a benefice given to a vassal by a lord. That is a gift given to someone for swearing an oath of loyalty to a lord. On most occassions this gift was the right to enjoy the fruits of some land (But not the actual land which remained with the lord) but it could just be a sum of money. The land given could vary and might contain many things. If the question you were asked to research was what buldings were in fiefs then I can only say the questioner is asking a very silly question. ------------------ |
