![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A very beautiful example for a castle with stables and a gatehouse is castle Hallwyl in Switzerland. Some good pictures: http://www.swisscastles.ch/Aargau/hallwil.html It's appearance hasn't changed much since medieval times, because it's still in the possesion of the same family that built it in the 12th century. Maybe you can get some ideas from that example and simplify it for your modell. Merlin |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Why not take a look at the Model Making forum - you'll find lots of information there about building all kinds of castle models. Levan |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All over England, Scotland and Ireland are small farm houses that have a stable\barn and high walls that forms a courtyard. Many with gate houses. Not what most people think of when they say castle, but that is what they are. One that would be simple to build is Provanhall in Scotland. |

![]() ![]() ![]() For information about how castles were built in real life, try the book "Castle" by David Macaulay. As for how to build YOUR model, I suggest small blocks of scrap wood painted gray, or perhaps popsicle sticks. If you dont need quite as much realism you could use candy or something else original... |
