Hello, thank you for answering my last quetion. I also wanted to know what would be the best castle for a forest? It would have to have a good defense as well as offense. Thank you.

Forest-castle? Before a castle was built, there was usualy made a large clearing around the place. The was very important for security, so you could see an enemy from as far as possible. Castles in forests were often built as part-time rsidences for hunting or as «clearing-castles». This means: A nobleman got the right (from the king or earl of that region) to use a woodland-territory, to clear the forest, sell the wood and then getting peasants to use the cleared area for farming. First step would always be to build a small castle in that forrest, possibly on a hill and only with defensive character.

All times are PT (US)
