I have this project in Engligh on castles. I would like to make a castle out of something edible, but I can't think of anything to make it with other than sugar cubes. I was thinking something like cookie bars, but not sure how that would turn out. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

jsbabyblue22, if you use the search facility (type in "sugar cubes" for example) in the "Model Making Forum", you will find that a number of people have asked a very similar question.Your question should be answered. As for cookie bars - that's a new one for me. Sounds interesting. For other edible options, try using a number of bars of chocolate broken into irregular squares (avoid if it's too warm though). Alternatively, bake a cake, allow to cool, and cut into brick shaped pieces. Pieces can be held together with butter icing (as opposed to concrete - although my icing has a consistency of concrete anyway). The best way though, does appear to be sugar cubes, having regular-shaped pieces already to hand. |

nut/date bars cut into shapes or even gingerbread. Although I like the idea of a cake better, it could have round turrets or square, walls and a tower. A little icing on the bottom sheet cake can be a moat with the walls above. Some where i have seen medieval plastic figures as toys too.AJR your icing can not be as bad as my sisters gravy, hers will hold up a 10 pound rock to a vertical wall for 5 minutes and it seems to strengthen lime concrete very well. Ahh, the joys of cooking |
