Hi, I have a class project to build a castle model by April 19. I need to find some parts and describe them. There are two that I have problems with. Forebuilding is the first part. I know that it is an extension to the keep that guards the keeps entrance, but from the pictures I've seen so far I do not understand where it is supposed to be exactly. I also have trouble with the treasure part of a castle. I think that it is a room in the castle's dungeon that guards all the castle's earnings, but I need to elaborate on it more. Could you please help me find these parts? Thank You

Sincerely,
Alex Presler

The for-building was usually put on the path/road used to reach the main entrance to a gate or door of a castle.
The distance varied due to topographical and or years the castle was built due to the changing of weapons and the plans needed for a defensive posture.

I believe you can find some past posts on the above and the treasure room by doing a search on this site.

is the forebuilding the same as a gatehouse?

All times are PT (US)
