------------------karenandt I have seen the MacAndrews sept in different areas as being related to Clan Chattan and/or Clan MacKintosh. Does anyone know which is true? Does anyone know what part of Scotland they were in? Or does anyone know how I could find out? Gordon The name simply means son of Andrew. Andrew is a common enough name here, but on your original point, Clan Chattan is a confederation of related families of which MacIntosh and MacAndrew are two. There is a related thread on this topic at http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum1/HTML/000053.html
