Hi,
I think you will be better obtaining something from your local library.
Though in general a plain white background would be needed to start with. Wall-hangings, perhaps some weaponary, the odd shield. Furniture was very limited. Chests, bench's, a rough hewn table ... and plenty of straw for the floor etc.

How about one or two gothic windows?

Many castles had plain walls. Other castles had shapes painted onto the walls and ceilings (so it looked like wall paper or tiles) - this was especially common in Scotland, and also in castles I've seen in France and Spain. The ceiling at Castle Levan and Traquir House have paintings of hunting scenes, musical instruments and mythological figures.

For a book see: Medieval Wall Paintings
E. Clive Rouse (ISBN 0747801444)

Another common decoration was the use of tapestries and carpets on the walls. These were expensive, but had the additional benefit of keeping the place warm.
