Further details available in 'The Castles of Scotland' 2nd edition by Martin Coventry, p.Goblinshead 1997, or any worthwhile Scottish Castles book. Pictures and a little history available on many of the COTW Scottish castles links. The history of this one would take almost as long to write out as it took to happen, and I'm not even going to attempt it here.
