I would be gratefull if anyone could pass on information about Berkely Castle around the late 1800s to early 1900s. I am particularly interested in the staff that may have been working within the stable block around that time, for instance, who was the head groom or who may have served under him.I am looking to find a Mr King who was reported as being head groom, around that time, although this is a story that has been passed down through generations so may have been altered at some point, we do know that he did work within the stables. If anybody could point me in the right direction I would be grateful as I am unable to find any web sites or information around this era. Thanking you |

I think that this is the sort of information that only an insider at Berkeley is likely to have. You will almost certainly have to write directly to Mr R.J. G. Berkeley, at Berkeley Castle, for this information. ------------------ And the astronomyours beheldyne the constellacions of hys bryth by thare castle, and foundyn that he sholde bene wyse and curteyse, good of consaill Secreta Secretorum Visit Castellarium Philippis | |
